Lazy weekend

This weekend was all about relaxation and being lazy. I was supposed to clean up the 2nd guest room, which has pretty much been a war zone since the wedding - first housing wedding stuff, then gifts, then boxes from the gifts, and now it's just become this deep, dark pit of a room where all our JUNK goes to die.

Um...yeah...I didn't clean the room.

I did, however, pull some stuff out of the closet to donate to Goodwill, and I also found our snow clothes to take to BFF Chandra for her upcoming ski trip, AND I did the dishes.

I call that progress.

We were invited to a couples baby shower on Saturday, which we made an appearance at ONLY because a "couples shower" implies booze. I mean, really - you're not going to expect dudes to show up at a baby shower without beer, right?

**Personally, I wouldn't expect ANYONE to show up at a shower without beer, but that's just me.

Anyway, the shower wasn't too painful, considering we stuck with the 3 other people we knew and hung out in a corner and ate the amaaaaazing potatoes and pork loin they had set out. Holy crap, that food was awesome.

After the shower - which was on the other side of town, wtf - Saul and I headed to Brix Wine Cellars for a drink and dessert.

The place was nice, but so so so loud. I don't know if the all-brick interior was just bouncing the sounds off all over the place, or if people were just super hammered and yelling, but Saul and I only stayed for 1 drink each and got the hell out of there.

Mmmm...Prosecco. Like biting into a juicy green apple!

Not before eating this, though...

White pizza with cheddar cream, Chipotle pesto, shrimp, mozzarella, bacon, arugula, fried egg & truffle oil

Oh my dear Jesus, I would eat this every day if it wouldn't cause me to gain 700 lbs. I was in the mood for something more dessert-like until Saul pointed this out on the menu. It was INSANE. Definitely going back for that bad boy.

It's Monday (boo) and the weather is supposed to get freeze-yer-tits-off-cold in this part of the country within the next 48 hours (super boo). Stay warm, wherever you are!

Just 6 days til the Superbowl!

**I just got an iPhone, so the photos are courtesy of that guy. How the hell do I make them bigger??

I looove Brix! But only when the weather is nice and we can sit on their patio and listen to the live music. We've only sat inside once and decided it was either patio or nt at all.

GASP! that pizza looks rad! i think i gained 700 lbs just thinking about eating it! NOM NOM! yum!

and i don't think i will EVER attend any kind of shower if booze isn't involved. really. they are so long and drawn out that alcohol is REQUIRED. particularly with baby showers. argh!
